The Beginning...


My dream is finally becoming a reality. Starting this wedding planning business has always been something that I wanted to do, but I wanted to make sure I was going to do it right. I received a degree in event management and also obtained a wedding planning certification. I knew that education wouldn't be enough though - I needed experience. So even during college, I took jobs and internships working with any vendor in the event industry - planners, florist, rental companies, catering, etc. After graduation, I had a few different positions with event planning and design companies. My longest position was with a company in Orlando. The company handled every aspect of an event and they produced thousands of events per year - social, corporate, and weddings. The four years I spent there gave me the greatest foundation for my confidence in the event industry. I gained so many great contacts in the event world in Florida and around the country. I have also been a freelance wedding planner since graduation. I enjoyed working in the corporate event world, but the feeling at the end of a wedding day is like none other. After planning my most recent wedding, it just finally clicked that I was ready to venture out on my own. So it brings me to this.... Thanking you for taking the time to read my blog and helping me bring my dream job to reality. Not to be cliche, but it so is true - Choose a job that you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.
