Congratulations - you just got engaged. Now what? Now the wedding planning begins. First take a little time to enjoy your engagement - there is no reason to rush into your wedding. Weddings can be so stressful to begin with so cutting your timeline even shorter may make that worse.
Here are a few things we suggest after getting engaged:
- Pick Your Wedding Date
- Everything centers around this - what venues and vendors are available, etc.
- Pick your wedding theme/colors
- This will be the palette for your florals, dresses, invitations, decor, etc.
- Secure your most important vendors
- This is a personal preference to you, but vendors easily book 1 year in advance - so if you have had your heart set on a certain band or photographer, get on it right away.
- Send the Save the Date Notes
- If you are having a destination wedding or a lot of guests are going to be traveling to get there, send the save the date card ASAP - so they can start making arrangements .
